Determination of the rate of radical formation in the decomposition of the initiator azobis-isobutyronitrile in reactions of oxidation of hydrocarbons in the presence of the inhibitor hydroquinone

Abstrakt: 1.The dependence of the induction period upon various additions of the inhibitorsa-naphthol, ionol, and hydroquinone in the oxidation of cumene and ethylbenzene, initiated by azobisisobutyronitrile was investigated.2.Using hydroquinone as the inhibitor, the rate of initiation could be determined with sufficient accuracy ac cording to the value of the induction period.3.The yield of radicals from the cell in the decomposition of the initiator azobisisobutyronitrile in eumene, ethylbenzene, 1,1-diphenylethane, 2,2,4-trimethylpentane, and 2,7-dimethyloctane was determined according to the induction period in the presence of the inhibitor hydroquinone.
