In using “counterlight” powder luminophores (in luminescent lamps, in IR-radiation transformers based on conversion luminophores, etc.), it is necessary to select the optimal thickness of the phosphor layer. This is difficult to calculate, since it is associated with a whole series of usually unknown parameters of the finely disperse structure of the phosphor, which is often introduced in some binder (coefficients of absorption, scattering, and reflection, their dependence on the granulometric distribution, the high concentration of phosphor in the medium, etc.). Nevertheless, it is possible, if experimental determination of some basic macroscopic parameters of the luminescent composition is possible. |
