Summary: Niederl’s original micro vapor density method was improved in a number of ways. The experimental conditions were further studied and the necessary corrections for temperature, pressure and expansion were determined. The method in addition to the vapor density determination permits the simultaneous determination of the boiling point of the substance in two ways. All determinations (vapor density and boiling point) can be repeated any number of times with a single sample of a few milligrams in weight. |
