The author reflects on the concerns raised by the legal society Law Institute of Victoria regarding the new Justice Legislation Amendment (Succession and Surrogacy) Bill 2014 introduced in Parliament of Victoria on August 20, 2014. Topics discussed include the limitation placed on the family provision scheme regarding claims on a deceased estate, the succession laws reviewed by the Victorian Law Reform Commission in 2013 and family provision claim under Administration and Probate Act 1958. |
