Abstrakt: The article presents a study on the detection of the catalysis of choline and phosphatidic acid (PA) by phospholipase D (PLD) with the use of matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-quadrupole ion trap-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-QIT-TOF/MS) with 9-aminoacridine matrix. Topics discussed include detection of choline and PA as a reaction product of phosphatidylcholine hydrolysis, enzymatic properties of PLD, and choline as a precursor of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.
