Abstrakt: The article discusses the author's contention that the post-Soviet economy is developing slowly and concludes that powerful agricultural enterprises, insurance mechanisms and distribution centers must be established. Topics discussed include the economies of the post-Soviet states as integrated into the global economy and the inability of post-Soviet countries to make an economic breakthrough such as Georgia whose socioeconomic situation has deteriorated during the world financial crisis.
