The article presents the views of special education stakeholders on the U.S. Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Special education director Jessica Yates explains the role of the Common Core in changing the learning expectations for students with disabilities. Assistant professor Peter Kozik cites the benefits that students with disabilities receive from the CCSS and the challenges facing students with disabilities and special education teachers as a result of the CCSS. |
