The article discusses a study which examined potential mechanisms of glycolysis involved seizure onset. Topics discussed include the role of lactic acid in reducing the pH of tissue and inducing metabolic acidosis, the aspects involved in the mechanism of lactic acid-induced acidosis and the role of glycolysis in energy metabolism. |
