The article discusses the impacts of the budget cuts on the U.S. Navy operations. Some strategies to address the impact include eliminating fleet training events not related to military deployment and reducing non-mission travel. Fleet Forces Commander Admiral Bill Gortney said that budget cuts will affect training of sailors and the benefits support programs. He also mentioned the priority of the Navy to fund fiscal 2013 and 2014 deployments. A list of budget cuts is provided. |
