The article discusses two experiments which determined the effects of oral treatment of ewe lambs with a single high or multiple low doses of ground meadow-fescue seed with a high concentration of loline alkaloid on the excretion of loline alkaloids in urine and faeces. It notes the appearance of loline alkaloids and the loline base in urine within 15 minutes. The quantity of lolines excreted and the clinical chemistry parameters in blood and urine in both experiments are also reported. |
