| Abstrakt: | The article presents a profile of the Buena Vista Sanatorium, a treatment facility for patients with tuberculosis (TB), located in Wabasha County, Minnesota between 1917 and 1955. The article provides statistics regarding the spread of TB in Minnesota during the early 1900s, highlights the large screened porches of the Buena Vista facility that allowed patients access to fresh air, and describes how antibiotic treatments contributed to the increased survival rate for TB patients. |
