Abstrakt: The article analyses the role of active amino acid residues in the active sites of L-Methionine ɣ-lyase from Pseudomonas putida (MGL_Pp). It examines the properties of the amino acid Cystein 116 Histidine (C116H) mutant by kinetic analysis and three dimensional structural analysis. It reports that C116H mutant acquired a novel β elimination activity and lead a drastic conformation change in the histidine residue at position 116 by binding the substrate.
