The article presents a study on the use of 1,2-Di-O-α-linolenoyl-3-O-β-galactosyl-sn-glycerol (DLGG) from Perilla frutescence as a superoxide anion production inhibitor. It says that the inhibition principle of the plant extract was observed in its prevention of 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate in an assay system with human promyelocytic HL-60 cells. Results show that the DLGG suppression capability of the extract was comparable to rosmarinic and caffeic acids. |
