The article discusses the development of a solar-operated tasar reeling machine by Annemarie Mink, a student at the University of Delft in the Netherlands, to help tribal women improve their productivity, quality and income. Mink developed the machine as graduation requirements in 2006 and under the initiative of the Indian Institute of Technology to improve the reeling machine used by tribal women. The mechanism and key features of the reeling machine are provided. |
