The article discusses developments in the global desalination market. A deal between IDE and Hutchison Water International Holdings will build the world's largest seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) plant in Israel. In the U.S., Arcadis through its Malcolm Pirnie Water Division is involved in a project at Coquina Coast in Florida to explore the feasibility of desalinated water. Meanwhile, rainfall changes and drought issues have increased focus on desalination in Australia. INSET: Technical advances in desalination. |
