The article discusses the highlights of the annual International Night by the Algonquin Section Council of the Canadian Institute of Forestry (CIF), held at McCoy's Tavern and Restaurant on Trout Lake in North Bay, Ontario. Doctor Jeff Dech, assistant professor of biology at Nipissing University, provided a presentation titled "In search of the oldest and largest living things on earth." He discussed the importance of fire in the management of Giant Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks. He ended his presentation with a walk through the Mariposa Grove. |
