The article focuses on the Trad Jazz Project in the San Juan Unified School District in San Juan Bautista, California. The project, which is part of a partnership with the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society (STJS), is funded by the budget of the Visual and Performing Arts in San Juan and the Trad Jazz Youth Band Festival. A Trad Jazz Project fake book based on lead sheets used at the Youth Band Festival has been developed by clinicians in 2010. An STJS fundraiser concert has been held at the Sacramento Yacht Club on December 2, 2010. |
