| Abstrakt: | A biography of biologist William Stebbins Barnard is presented. The author reflects on Barnard's schooling and education at the University of Michigan and Cornell University. His participation as a student in zoological expeditions is noted. Other topics include the influence of evolution and biologist Charles Darwin, invention of the cyclone nozzle for insecticide spraying, and teaching methods for instruction in the natural and physical sciences. |
