Abstrakt: Chapter 38 of the book "Underground Injection Science and Technology," edited by C-F. Tshang and J. A. Apps is presented. It examines the distribution of radionuclide within a sandstone injection zone in the course of acidic liquid radioactive waste (LRW) disposal at Russian MinAtom Enterprises. The distribution-coefficient value data for the radionuclides was determined by simulated waste effluents prepared on the nitric and acetic acid basis. A self-sustaining barrier in the vicinity of the well prevents radionuclide dispersion in the subsurface water.
