The article discusses the use of novel textiles developed by the Thueringen-Vogtland Textile Research Institute at Greiz, Germany for the fat/moist therapy management of stationary and ambulant atopic dermatitis. Signs and symptoms of the disease include dry, swollen skin, itching and blisters. According to the article, the center piece of the innovation features a functional three-dimensional warp-knitted fabric. Other features include a fluorocarbon resin finish and aqueous and fatty components which provides oil- and water-repellant finish. |
