The article focuses on the cast plaster sculpture "Clyde with Folded Arms," produced by John Ahearn in 1982-1983 in the U.S. The sculpture depicts a sitter smiling or laughing, dressed in a light purple tank top with arms crossed and fingers reaching to his elbows. His position has appeared in the different portraits of Ahearn, and believed to the easiest and comfortable position to maintain. It discusses Ahearn's labor-intensive and intricate technique of casting the body as well as the position of his talents. |
