Abstrakt: The article discusses how to integrate big projects, like convention centers, sports arenas, civic centers and housing communities, into the city and its design. Build projects with multiple purposes, not just mix uses, to attract multiple users. Turn inward looking projects by turning out spaces not totally tied to the interior, separating parking and other means of arrival from the project and, by designing the entry as an important civic space for the surrounding city, and not just a channel to get many people quickly into the big interior. Redesign big projects using boundaries, rather than buffers and barriers to define territories. Finally, prioritize city design before project design.
