The article discusses the history of the accreditation of museums by the American Association of Museums (AMM) as it celebrates its 25th anniversary in Denver, Colorado. The continuous debates by the museum professionals regarding museum standards has led to the formation of the accreditation committee in 1968. Since then, the accreditation program has grown steadily with nearly 750 accredited museums in the U.S. |
