Abstrakt: | A profile of James C. Hormel, an American philanthropist and advocate of gay rights, is presented. He became first openly gay ambassador from the U.S. His nomination was criticized by conservative groups. He was born in Austin, Minnesota, on January 1, 1931. He gained a B.A. degree in history in 1955 from Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. |
