The article reports on the influence of cost containment strategies and physician's financial arrangements on patient's trust and satisfaction. There have been some concerns raised about the potential for negative effects of health plan's cost containment strategies on the patient-physician relationship. A survey was conducted among patients with diabetes and hypertension and their physicians to assess the associations of gatekeeping, utilization profiling, and financial arrangements. |
