The article describes how several Canadian women achieved physical fitness. Elizabeth Pollard and her husband took up ballroom dancing when they retired at age 60 which boosted their cardiovascular fitness as well as muscle function. After watching the film "White Nights," Andrea Stewart enrolled in an adult ballet class and noticed improvements in her posture, flexibility, and balance. Lindsay Sukornyx joined a running clinic's marathon program upon the request of her long-distance girlfriend and shed 20 pounds. |
