The article looks at the symbolic aspects of rat characters in political fables written by George Orwell. The status of rats has been questioned during a meeting of animals depicted in the book "Animal Farm." It suggests that the rats in the fable would not be considered as comrades of other animals when they are fascists. In the fable "The Road to Wigan Pier," fascism and communism are attributed to rats and rat-poison. |
