| Abstrakt: |
The article presents information on the role of the U.S. Air Force Reserve in Operation Sunshade, a response to the Cuban Missile Crisis. The crisis emerged when the U.S. discovered that the Soviet Union has provided Cuba with offensive ballistic missiles that are capable of reaching major cities in the U.S. The operation is aimed at eliminating the missiles and at launching an invasion of Cuba. An overview of the Air Force Reserve Flying Wing program is outlined. |
