The article features the Hays County Commissioners Court elections and the contesting republican candidates Hays County Judge Jim Powers and his challenger, Liz Sumter. Powers says that the county is in the best shape that it has ever been. The bond rating is better, the tax rate is lower and the continued focus is on infrastructure. However, problems like water scarcity exist and with regions facing severe drought, new developments put pressure on existing water supplies. |
