The article reports on the establishment of the Commission on Mental Health in the community in order to address mental health problem in various communities in the U.S. It is commissioned by the office of the president and will be headed by the wife of the president, Rosalyn Carter. The commission aims to address the dramatic impact of the mental illness problem in the country. The government reportedly spent a sum amounting to $2 billion dollar in developing the program through the establishment of catchment areas throughout the country. |
