Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted at Copenhagen University Hospital in Denmark has found that digital thermography can complement Laser Speckle Contrast Imaging (LSCI) in diagnosing severe mesenteric traction syndrome (MTS). MTS is currently diagnosed based on assessing facial flushing, but LSCI has limitations. The study aimed to examine thermographic changes during the development of severe MTS and identify a cut-off value for diagnosing it. The results showed that patients with severe MTS had increased facial skin temperature during surgery, and a cut-off value of 35.55 degrees Celsius was identified for identifying severe MTS using thermography. The study concludes that digital thermography can be used alongside LSCI for the objective identification of severe MTS. [Extracted from the article] |
