A recent study conducted at Changzhou University in the People's Republic of China explored the anticancer activities of mixed N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) palladium complexes. The complexes, which were derived from benzylamine, phenethylamine, and biphenylamine, were found to inhibit the proliferation of HepG2 and Caco2 cancer cells. The study also revealed that ligands with stronger electron donation and moderate steric hindrance exhibited greater cytotoxicity. The research further investigated the DNA binding properties and apoptosis-inducing effects of the complexes. Financial support for the study was provided by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. [Extracted from the article] |
