This article formulates and analyzes a Nietzschean "principle of relational perception," a continuation of his perspectivist epistemology. While perspectivism asserts that perception is modified by one's perspective, relational perception takes a further step asserting that a perception's interpretation is internalized and projected upon subsequent observations and perspectives. Analyzing Nietzsche's implementation of the principle, I clarify the intention, motivation, and context of his thought, allowing his complex ideas to be understood in relation to the all-too-human visionary who conceived them.
