This article discusses the importance of school workshops at Neuchâtel's Botanic Garden in raising awareness about plants and their conservation. The authors provide ten reasons why these workshops are valuable, including the need for plant education in modern societies, the struggle of young children to understand plants, the biodiversity offered by botanic gardens, and the opportunity to reach diverse audiences. The article emphasizes the benefits of long-term partnerships between botanical gardens, teachers, and schools. It also highlights the importance of multi-sensorial experiences, embodied imitation, and anthropomorphism in engaging children with plants during these workshops. [Extracted from the article] |
