Abstrakt: Fibrous dysplasia is a bone development disorder prevalent in young adults characterized by the replacement of normal bone by fibrous connective tissue with bone trabeculae. Gingival fibromatosis is a rare condition in which there is a genetic predisposition, characterized by continuous and progressive gingival growth. These entities rarely appear together. Patient underwent osteoplasty in the right maxilla when she was 10 years old, with a diagnosis of fibrous dysplasia, confirmed by anatomopathologic examination. She returned at 23 years old with gingival and bone increase in the maxilla (vestibular, lingual, and tuberosity) and mandible (vestibular) for a second surgical correction. Osteoplasty and gingivoplasty were performed, and thinning of the flap in the maxillary palatal region was also necessary. The last anatomopathologic result was gingival fibromatosis and fibrous dysplasia. The surgical result was satisfactory, and the patient was referred to an orthodontist for correction of diastemas and inclination of the occlusal plane. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
