Here, we present an updated list of bird species of the Novaya Zemlya Archipelago and integrated data on birds' recordings on the archipelago in 2015 and 2017. Our results reveal that Novaya Zemlya is inhabited by 111 bird species, i.e. 46 nesting species, 25 common species that do not breed there or nesting is unconfirmed, 39 vagrant species, and one species (Aquila chrysaetos) that was not recorded on the archipelago since the 19th century.
