Abstrakt: The article focuses on the techniques of headlines. It presents a "tool," an exercise that requires both teacher and student to work, but all concerned should have fun. The author of this article who teaches at university of Wisconsin, first tried the quiz with a group of editors at a workshop. Then she used it with 10 Newspaper Fund editing interns. She continued to use it in an advanced editing class at the University of Missouri. The idea is to take bright headlines and, using a similar count, show how a different word or two would have destroyed the headline.
