| Abstrakt: | In this article, the author discusses the vision of William Gies of integrating dental education into the university environment and advancements in dental education in the 21st Century. Topics discussed include disparity among the dental schools in the U.S. as fewer than a quarter receiving more than half of national research funding, essential role of research in oral health care and dental education, and need of increasing diversity and getting dental care into primary health care. |
