Abstrakt: The study was conducted in 106 female Freiswal calves out of which 15 were affected with keratoconjuctivitis with overall prevalence of 14.15%. The clinical observations recorded were excessive lacrimation with watery to purulent discharge, blepharospasm, photophobia, whitish yellow corneal opacity, followed by corneal ulceration and partial to complete blindness. Cultural, morphological and biochemical characterization revealed presence of Staphyloccus aureus as the etiological agent. The cultural sensitivity pattern revealed that the isolated organism was highly sensitive to oxytetracyclin, followed by gentamicin. Effective therapeutic management with oxytetracyclin LA along with sub-conjunctival injection of gentamicin and dexamethsone was done. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
