Infusions failures in the use of peripheral venous catheters in children: integrative review.

Abstrakt: During the time of maintenance therapy in the peripheral vein, many problems, known as faults that prevent the infusion therapy has continued a venous vessel. Looking for additional efforts and contribute to the improvement of nursing care provided to children in use of intravenous therapy, it was proposed this research to identify the available evidence in the literature on the main fault infusions related to the use of peripheral venous catheters in pediatrics and propose strategies for reducing them. In this research, was selected as a method of the resources of evidence-based practice, the integrative review of the literature, which enables the synthesis and analysis of scientific knowledge has produced on the subject investigated. Showed that the main flaw is the infusion phlebitis. With regard to the time of peripheral venous catheter venous access in the average time is 72 hours. Forward to the results mentioned in the material included in this integrative review, considers to be necessary to intensify efforts for the development of research design in producing strong evidence on the subject investigated, especially in reality the practice of pediatric nursing Brazil.
