The article looks at the use of programming model MapReduce in accessing rich data analytics through mobile tablets or other small devices. Topics mentioned include an overview of a programming infrastructure using MapReduce to perform computationally intensive processing, details of the Reduce step in MapReduce which consolidates results into a final set of results by using different combining algorithms, and a comparison of MapReduce and Structured Query Language relational databases. |
