Abstrakt: The article presents abstracts of studies related to oral agents for the treatment of diabetes, which include research on the effects of sitagliptin and exenatide on plasma concentrations of betatrophin, a peptide secreted by hepatocytes that plays a role in ß-cell function and proliferation, in patients with type 2 diabetes, and evaluation of the glycemic efficacy of alogliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor.
