SUMMARY The authors discuss the performance of Metrizamide Myelogram in the evaluation of the lumbar spine canal. The importance of functional studies is explained and their inclusion is recommended as an integral part of all lumbar myelograms. Dilution of the contrast with movement is noted and can be partly compensated for by careful collimation. Headache is the most common side effect not worsened by using 200 mg. Iodine per ml. or by using a total dose of 3000 mg. of Iodine. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
