The article discusses the highlights of the Instructional Technology Council's eLearning 2013 conference held in Austin, Texas. Trends identified include the use of open online courses, augmented reality and artificial intelligence algorithms. Doctor Chris Bustamante of Rio Salado College shared his thoughts on the use of competency-based and personalized learning models in improving the educational system. The emergence of open electronic textbooks and gamification was also discussed. |
