Abstrakt: The article discusses the discovery of gem tourmaline pockets in the Sosedka Pegmatite in Malkhan, Russia. According to the author, the Malkhan pegmatite field is the most important producing pegmatite district in Siberia and the entire Soviet Union. The author adds that between 300 and 1,000 kilograms of tourmaline as well as quartz and small amounts of danburite, beryl, and pollucite make up the yearly production of the field.
