The article discusses the independence of England from the fate of confederacy led by British statesman John Bright during the nineteenth century. It notes that Great Britain's confederacy had based its hopes for recognition of its two envoys James Mason and John S. Slidell. It examines the nation's war hysteria came from the parliament and the press where in more than half of the House of Commons were glad to find an excuse for voting for the dismembership of the great republic of the U.S. |
