The article presents information on cleaning membranes in reverse osmosis (RO) elements, and how water treatment companies can offer this service to broaden their offerings and improve their revenue. It is said that accumulation of mineral scale, colloidal particles and insoluble organics in RO membranes affects normalized permeate flow or salt rejection. It is said that membrane cleaning is also a cost-effective option in comparison to buying a new one. |
