| Abstrakt: | The article focuses on the socio-political aspects of rape in India as of March 2013. The equivalent of the word "rape" in India's many languages is highlighted. The author says rape in India is a crime committed by a man against the honor of another man who as a father, husband, or brother, "owns" the woman who is raped. Rape as a political act in human history is discussed including how rape is used as a tool of violence against women. |
