The article discusses variable microsatellites that are used to estimate genetic variations that might be responsible for population decreases in rock-wallaby colonies. The authors examine the conditions used and results of separating the microsatellites in the DNA samples taken from two colonies of wallabies. It is reported that high heterozygosity values suggest a broad range of macropods. One of the goals of microsatellite research is to develop primers which are informative for a wide range of species. |
