The author reflects on the development in drug delivery for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. He informs about several characteristics of pancreatic cancer which include desmoplastic reaction of pancreatic stellate cells, activated fibroblasts and inflammatory cells embedded in a dense extracellular matrix. He discusses the use of liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry technique for quantification of gemcitabine metabolites. |
